CompuSurf Internet Service.
The final delivery of the Compusurf service to the end user is Ethernet, however the local loop transit technology to the end user premises is wireless. The wireless nature means we can reach areas traditional copper wire operators cannot, hence a traditional fixed line is not required.
How we rate our bandwidth.
Compusurf uses a different concept on how bandwidth is priced and delivered to end users. Instead of quoting fixed Bandwidths we are calling it “ All the speed you need” and that is exactly what it is. We have totally reworked the way our bandwidth management systems control the speed clients get. With Compusurf One, the customer controls the bandwidth they receive instead of us. If they are, for example, running an IPTV box and the box is asking for 4 megs then 4 megs they get. If they are streaming something in HD and they need 6megs then 6 megs they get and so on. There are of course limits to prevent bandwidth Hoggers causing peak time slowdowns. But they are higher than our current top speed package and can vary depending on system load to maintain a good level of service for everybody.
Quality of the Compusurf connection
As an independent operator we are free to select our final connection into the Internet backbone however we choose. We decided to go for quality rather than price. Our networks connect direct to tier one connected Data centres in Murcia and Lorca via Private Licensed Microwave links. The result is lower latency, more bandwidth and faster connections to international routes. To further improve end user experience we also chose not to use Proxy servers, with Compusurf you are seeing live websites from around the world and not a locally cached copy. The use of proxy servers is very common in Spain as a local cache saves on Bandwidth and ultimately money but does have an impact on the end client as you are not always seeing the latest version of a website, Proxy servers are especially bad for people who update websites.
Again unlike many providers we choose not to modify DNS requests in any way. We do not need to operate a locally cached DNS pool as our latency is so low. instead our clients DNS requests are sent directly to the nearest Google public server. This is an advantage to the end user as the Google DNS servers are some of the most robust and fastest on the Planet. Also the Google giant offers far more sophisticated security against DNS hijacking than we could ever afford to do.
The latency of our network is roughly half that of a traditional copper wire equivalent as our network is only one hop away from the top level backbone in Spain. This is fantastic news for online gamers.
The Compusurf connection is a fully open live connection. We do not block, modify or restrict the connection in any way. We are proud to be one of the few Wireless providers able to do this, many WISP´s restrict or even block some services as they need to preserve limited bandwidth and other network resources.

In 2014 we upgraded our entire Network to allow triple play services, we recently upgraded speeds as we invested in new wireless technology, we are soon to be adding, TV over the internet, mobile telephone services, Weather forecasting services and more. By the end of 2016 we will be fully compliant and able to deliver IPV6 public IP addressing direct to consumers devices ready for an exciting future of connected devices. Compusurf is a trading name of “Group Compusurf sl” Our activities are registered with the Spanish Telecoms regulator known as the CNMC, used to be known as the CMT but was dissolved into a wider body called the CNMC back in 2013.
